Janice is a certified and State of Connecticut Licensed Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dispenser. She received a master’s degree in Audiology from the University of Connecticut in 1985. She completed her undergraduate degree also at UCONN receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders and Sciences in 1983. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association and is a member of other prestigious national professional associations. Janice specializes in Diagnostic Audiometry and Hearing Aid Technology with advanced training in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) and Sound Sensitivity Management.
Janice will communicate test results, diagnose, and propose proper treatment options, all performed in a clear, concise, compassionate manner. She has been assisting patients in achieving healthy hearing for over twenty-five years in both the greater New Haven and Shoreline Communities. She has conducted many seminars to educate individuals on the most current state of the art hearing aid advancements utilized to promote healthy hearing.
Janice has been a colleague of Dr. Bauman and Paula Jensen for many years. She worked at Hearing Balance and Speech Center, previously owned by and under the direction of Dr. Bauman, for over thirty years; Paula Jensen was the Practice Manager for the final four years of Dr. Bauman’s ownership. Dr. Bauman and Paula enthusiastically welcome Janice as they all share the same determined work ethic, highest professional values, and have the utmost concern for their patients. They are dedicated to individualized personal attention for their patients and will take the time necessary to ensure that all questions are answered, and the finest possible hearing care is offered.
Outside of work, Janice greatly enjoys spending time with her family and friends and she is always ready to give assistance to others in need. She is quite active year-round as her interests include golfing, biking, skiing and travel. She truly believes that laughter is a wonderful companion in life.
